Michal Towber has served as a Director of Soul Pop U since its inception. Towber graduated with honors from Yale University, with a B.A. in political science, and is a member of the political science honors society. She has a J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she studied Entertainment Law and Intellectual Property/Copyright Law. She is an admitted attorney in New York and New Jersey, and recently deferred a position with the prestigious New York Law Firm, Skadden Arps, in order to promote her fourth, and most recent album, Lifesblood. Towber's work on the Daytime Television Drama "One Life to Live" as a composer and songwriter won her an Emmy Award in 2005. She produced her first album, "Sky with Stars," with Soul Asylum front-man Dave Pirner, and distributed through Columbia/Sony. Towber's songs have become indie classics thanks to appearances on shows such as "Dawson's Creek," the movie "Kiss the Bride," commercials for products like Diet Coke and Delia's.
